Laura is an Information Security and Technology Professional with extensive experience in global security operations. With a breadth of technical and leadership skills, Laura’s background includes diverse responsibility for establishing and directing security and compliance programs, overseeing risk management, and advancing technology architecture in retail, as well as consumer credit and banking industry sectors.
Laura’s prior roles include serving as Head of Information Security for a large retailer, with more than 400 stores and one of the largest Internet retail sites, Laura was responsible for aligning security initiatives with enterprise programs across the United States, Canada and Brazil. Prior to that she was Senior Director, Global Security Compliance for Equifax; Director of Technology Architecture for CredAbility; and Data Manager/Assistant Vice President for MBNA America. Recognized as a solution-oriented leader, Laura embraces a collaborative management approach to work across platforms to deliver IT security and compliance solutions that ensure the protection of information assets and technologies. Laura’s functional expertise extends to governance, privacy data protection, information security audit, security awareness programs, and enterprise policy and standards development.
Laura is a graduate of Oxford University in England where she earned a degree in Biochemistry, and her technology certifications include ISC2 CISSP and CCSP, ISACA CISM, and CISA, Cisco CCNA, PCI ISA (Internal Security Assessor), PCI PCIP (Payment Card Industry Professional) and Microsoft MCSE. She was previously on the Board of Directors for the Stride Center in Oakland, a non-profit social venture working to empower men and women in the Bay Area to achieve professional careers in technology.
Laura started Angel Cybersecurity in early 2017 and has never looked back.
